Dr. Sasaki provides private lessons as well as performance services. She is a seasoned teacher who has more than 25 years of experiences. She has taught hundreds of students with various ages (5-64!) and levels (beginner – professional).
As an active professional clarinetist with a doctorate degree, Dr. Sasaki has deep understanding of music both in theory and practice. Her instruction is always based on music, not just cut and dry methodology and repetitions. She helps students to think and find their own expressions, and give them concrete advice to realize their own ideas through their instrument. As a result, her students learn not only how to play instrument but also how to enjoy and love music!
Dr. Sasaki has taught clarinet in group settings as a woodwind consultant at High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and as a faculty at AFA Summer Music Festival.
Also, she excels coaching ensemble techniques in chamber music settings. Dr. Sasaki is a faculty at ArtsAhimsa Music Festival and substitute faculty at the Juilliard School Pre College Program where she coaches not only groups with clarinet but also groups without clarinet such as a string quartet or piano trio.
Currently, Dr. Sasaki resides in Fort Myers, FL and frequently travels to Houston and New York. If you are in those areas and interested in taking lessons/coachings from Dr. Sasaki, either weekly bases or one time, please contact her from here.
